Becoming Your Own Proofreader: Practical Tips for Editing Your Own Writing
This class is for those who want to improve their ability to "polish" their own writing.
Overview | Do you want to become a clearer writer, but feel daunted by the task of “polishing” your prose? Wish that you could identify and fix some of the common stylistic and grammatical “errors” that you tend to make in your writing? This course will discuss methods of editing aimed at identifying awkward or unclear constructions, and we will talk about the range of editorial “corrections” available to the writer. We will emphasize building a “self-editing” checklist, and will model this process in the class. |
