Writing Personal Statements
1.5 hours

Intended Audience

Designed to help students applying for graduate or professional school.

Overview

In this class, we'll consider general principles for writing convincing and persuasive essays and statements, as well as read and discuss samples of successful essays and statements of purpose from both graduate and professional program applications. Though some material will necessarily apply more to graduate applications than those for professional programs and vice versa, most of what we'll cover is relevant for all personal statements regardless of context.
