Writing Resumés and Cover Letters
Come to this workshop to learn what employers say they want in resumés and cover letters and how to meet those criteria impressively.
Overview | Are you having trouble distilling your whole life into a one-page resumé? Are you confused about how to write a resumé that is going to be fed into a computer rather than being read by a human being? Don’t know how to target that cover letter for a particular position? Well, we’re here to help. We’ll concentrate here on what employers say they want on Resumés and cover letters and on how to meet those criteria. This workshop is not appropriate for people who are writing an academic curriculum vitae. Students who have already written a cover letter or resumé and want individual advice for improving it should schedule appointments to meet individually with a Writing Center instructor. Students working on resumés and cover letters should also seek advice from College of Letters and Sciences (1305 Linden Drive, Suite 205, 262-3921), as well as from the many placement offices in individual schools, colleges, and departments across the University. |
