Registration is now closed.

We're sorry to say that all of the places in this year's institute were filled within four weeks after registration opened on February 15th.  The Pyle Conference Center is maintaining a waiting list; if some people who are registered have to cancel, we'll offer spots to people on the waiting list, in the order in which they added their names.  If you're interested, we'd strongly encourage you to write to Gloria Eichenseher at the Pyle Center to add your name to the waiting list (there's no cost or obligation).  If you have questions about the waiting list, please feel free to contact Brad Hughes, the co-chair of the institute. Thank you so much for your interest in this year's writing center institute!

registration fee

The $600 registration fee includes instruction, materials, a welcome reception and dinner Sunday evening, a group cruise on the lake, refreshment breaks during the five-day Institute, and lunches for four of the days.

Travel, lodging and dinners, except Sunday evening’s dinner, are at participants’ expense. (A block of 50 rooms has been reserved for institute participants at a hotel near the Pyle Center, and more information about lodging will be available in the near future. For your planning purposes, the current rates are $81 for a single and $91 for a double.)

For secondary teachers interested in enrolling for graduate credit, information about additional fees for graduate credit will be available soon.

Registration is strictly limited to 50. To hold your place in the Institute, we must receive your payment and your completed registration form.

registration deadline

Registration deadline is Friday, June 20, 2008.

cancellation policy

If you cancel your registration before June 27, 2008 (three or more weeks before the Institute), you will receive a full refund minus a $50 administrative fee.

If you cancel after June 27—or do not attend—you are responsible for the entire registration fee.

If you have registered but are unable to attend, you are welcome to send a substitute.

If you register online, you'll be able to pay by credit card only.
If you register by mail, you'll be able to pay by check, credit card, or purchase order.
