The 2011 Midwest Writing Centers Association Conference will be held at the Pyle Conference Center, 702 Langdon Street, Madison, WI. The Pyle Center is located on the campus of the University of Wisconsin, on the shore of Lake Mendota, a block from the University's student union and from shops and restaurants on State Street. Travel

By air

Madison's airport is served by American Eagle, Continental Express, Delta, Frontier, and United Express, with nonstop flights from Atlanta, Chicago (ORD), Cincinnati, Cleveland, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Memphis, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, New York (LGA), Newark, and Washington, DC and is about seven miles away from the Lowell Center and the Pyle Center by taxi (current fare is about $16).

By car

Madison is in south central Wisconsin, about 80 miles west of Milwaukee on I-94; about 150 miles northwest of downtown Chicago on 1-90; and about 250 miles southeast of Minneapolis and St. Paul on I-94.

Parking is available through the Lowell Center (for guests staying there), the Campus Inn (for guests staying there), the Doubletree Hotel (for guests staying there), the Concourse Hotel (for guests staying there), and the Pyle Center (for those attending the conference but not staying at any of the hotels).

By bus

The Van Galder Bus Company provides daily service between Madison (in front of the UW-Madison Memorial Union, 800 Langdon Street, a half block from the Pyle Conference Center) and Chicago's O'Hare International Airport and Chicago's Midway Airport as well as the Amtrak Station in Chicago.

The Badger Bus Company provides service between Madison (in front of the UW-Madison Memorial Union, a half block from the Pyle Conference Center) and Milwaukee's Mitchell Airport and downtown Milwaukee.
