for current fellows

staff meetings and ongoing education schedule, Spring 2012

Staff meetings bring all experienced Fellows together to talk informally about Fellowing goals, strategies, frustrations and suggestions; ongoing education sessions give you a chance to continue and extend the intellectual and theoretical work you began in 316.

April (Date T.B.A.)

Date/time will be determined based on participants’ schedules

Centering Your Margins: Commenting Style, Theory, and Application

At this OGE led by Fellows and UADs Aubrey Lauersdorf and Noah Pearce, you’ll discuss and practice commenting strategies for working with advanced writers. This will be a hands-on OGE in which you comment on actual writing produced by a Fellow.

Get Immortalized! OGE (i.e., Get Videotaped)

The Writing Fellows program always strives to build an archive of videos of Fellows conferencing with students. These videos are very helpful for training purposes, especially in 316. If you are interested, Cydney will videotape you in action during two of your conferences. You will also have a debriefing meeting with Cydney.

Alternate: Observe a Writing Center Conference

If you cannot attend two OGEs because of scheduling conflicts, please notify Cydney as soon as possible to schedule a Writing Center observation, after which you will respond to the observation in writing.
