All UW-Madison graduate students are welcome to join the Writing Center’s summer Drop-In Graduate Writing Groups on Tuesdays from 9:00 AM-12:00 PM (CST) and Wednesdays from 1:00-4:00 PM (CST). Together, we will share our writing goals and support one another in getting a substantial amount of writing done!
For Summer 2021, our two drop-in graduate writing groups will run from the week of May 17 through the week of August 2.
Although no pre-registration is required for these groups, filling out our interest form will get you on the list for announcements and reminders. To join a weekly meeting, click on the following links and follow the instructions provided (please be sure to log in to your UW-Madison G Suite account for full access):
Tuesdays 9:00 AM-12:00 PM (CST)
Wednesdays 1:00-4:00 PM (CST)
Both groups provide the opportunity to connect with other writers on Zoom, but you can participate without video if you prefer. Attendance through the entire summer is not required, but past participants will tell you that writing groups are most effective when you make them part of your weekly routine!
When you do attend our summer writing groups, please be sure to:
- Be on time and plan to stay for the full three hours.
- Have all the materials you need ready at hand (e.g., research data, reference texts).
- Sustain yourself with snacks, beverages, and short breaks.
- Prepare specific, achievable writing goals for the session that you might share with other group members.
If you have any questions about the summer Drop-In Graduate Writing Groups, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org. We hope to see you soon!
