Every day, through individual consultations and workshops, the UW-Madison Writing Center helps undergraduate and graduate students, from every major across campus, excel with their writing. Through our consultations and co-teaching with faculty, instructional staff, and teaching assistants in every school and college across campus, and through our undergraduate Writing Fellows who work with student-writers and faculty within courses, we help support a strong culture of writing across the University. Through our online reference materials about writing, which are some of the most widely used in the world, we help writers and faculty around the United States and around the world, 24 hours a day. And while they’re engaged in the eomplex work of helping student-writers, the undergraduate and graduate tutors in the Writing Center’s programs are learning a great deal about writing and teaching, learning that is deep, enduring, and even transformational.
Gift funds help support excellence and innovation in Writing Center programs. Your gift can help the Center–
- develop new satellite locations across campus
- offer more consultation hours when demand from students is highest
- provide more online consultations
- introduce new workshops about academic writing
- develop even more online resources for writers
- create innovative new ways to support writers and faculty
- support writing center research done by our undergraduate and graduate tutors
- expand our library
- modernize our facilities
- and much, much more!
If you’d like to support the Writing Center’s mission and programs, if the Writing Center has made a difference to you as a writer or as an instructor, please consider making a gift. Gifts of any size truly make a difference, and we deeply appreciate them. To learn more about making a donation to the UW-Madison’s Writing Center, please contact–
